Manager says:
This is a critical role in our People Services team. You’ll be at the heart of delivering a people-first, compliant and efficient HR service across the Ardonagh Specialty business. Reporting directly to me, the Head of People Services, you’ll play a key role in supporting colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle, especially when it comes to employee relations, policy implementation and regulatory compliance.
You’ll collaborate with a brilliant mix of stakeholders across the business and the wider People & Culture team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide balanced, informed and expert HR advice to managers on policies, employee relations and performance management.
- Manage complex ER cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance improvement plans.
- Conduct fair and objective investigations and recommend appropriate outcomes.
- Support TUPE processes, redundancies, and organisational change initiatives.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure HR practices align with policy and best practice.
- Assist the Heads of HR and Business Partners with casework and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR policies in line with legal and regulatory standards.
- Monitor employee engagement and analyse HR data to inform improvements.
- Deliver training and coaching to managers on HR practices and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
- Liaise with third-party providers (e.g., payroll) to ensure accurate processing.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
- Assist in producing monthly HR metrics report.
- Work collaboratively across the People & Culture function and Group HR.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar advisory role with strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, and handling sensitive matters confidentially.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
- Experience in regulated environments; Financial or Professional Services preferred.
- Commercial awareness and sound business acumen.
- Working knowledge of core HR functions (L&D, Reward, Operations).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- CIPD Associate membership or actively working towards qualification.
