Manager says:
The UK&I Construction team has been established for just over a year and is growing rapidly. We need to provide more support to our Account Directors and this has created an opportunity for a UK construction account handler to join Price Forbes and rapidly accelerate their capabilities and career in our dynamic, collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Dealing with renewals, new risks, quotations, client and underwriter liaison and full account management.
- Preparing market submissions and placing documentation.
- Maintaining clear, accurate and comprehensive files.
- Ensure agreed payment terms and payment warranties are met through credit control.
- Provide support to the rest of the team.
- Carrying out such projects and other duties and tasks as may from time to time be required.
- Taking full responsibility for smaller enquiries and working alongside more experienced practitioners on more complex and higher value opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
We are looking for someone:
- With two or three years’ experience in UK construction insurance who has developed a good basic understanding of the sector.
- That has a good understanding of the preparation MRCs, policies and endorsements and wants to move on from these activities to more complex client and market work.
- Has started to develop and understanding of the key insurance market players who wants to develop their knowledge and experience by taking on more responsibility in marketing risks in conjunction with our market leading broking team.
- Has been introduced to UK construction client service requirements and wants to develop these skills and learn from our existing very experienced team.
- Has experience of handling both annual business for contractor clients (CAR/TPL/EL) and single project CAR/DSU/TPL business for both contractor and owner-controlled insurance programmes.
- Has had an introduction to UK construction contract conditions and has the desire to develop this knowledge to a level where they can handle more complex enquiries.
- Can develop strong relationships with clients and underwriters.
- The ability to understand and interpret customers’ needs and requirements.
- Who is able to work effectively as a part of a team.
- Can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Person Specification:
- Must be able to work with end clients directly
- Can confidently and proactively demonstrate competence in line with the role requirements
- Wants to learn from our experienced team and develop their career within this specialty area
- Has conscientious outlook and approach and excellent attention to detail
- Can work independently while being able to refer more complex issues where required
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Is happy to work flexibility and collaboratively within our dynamic team environment
